The 8^th Tampa Bay Dragon Boat races saw 56 teams battle it out on the water in downtown Tampa! If you’re not familiar with Dragon Boat racing it’s where 20 paddlers sit side-by-side and paddle in time to a drummer in a 42’ boat. Club Sport fielded two boats (Club Sport Wun Fun Boat and Club Sport Evil Oars) in this year’s event. Both teams paddled their hearts out. Club Sport Wun Fun Boat had some good races and almost reached their goal of under 2 minutes, with their best time of 2:01 flat. Club Sport Evil Oars came in a bit slower in the first couple races but save their best time for last winning their final race in the E Division Consolation Final with a time of 2:07.27. Overall the Red Dragons Miami walked away with the title. It was a great time by all as they camped out in the paddlers village between races enjoying the live music and the craft beer garden, along with AsiaFest. We hope to see even more paddlers in 2012!!
