A last minute rush of registrations (including a few walk ups) got the Club Sport poker tourney up to an impressive 31 players spread over 3 tables at Derby Lane last night. The beer and cards were flowing quickly, and a couple hands in, couple Lisa Wilcox and Andrew Blikken were knocked out in the same hand!  Lisa had a better hand, so Andrew was awarded the “First Out” title and won a gift bag with a Club Sport shirt, hat and Koozie).  A couple hours later the field was whittled down to a final table of ten, where all attendees were given Club Sport “Final Table” poker tourney pint glasses. When the dust settled Paul Waddy took 4^th place and $117 for his efforts. 3^rd place went to regular Charlie Paler who tripled up on his entry fee and took home $175.  Heads up came down to long time veterans Stan Perkins and Christine Sterling.  Wanting his first trophy badly enough, Stan agreed to forgo his sizeable chip lead and chop the top two spots with Christine splitting $700 ($350 each) in exchange for the trophy. In the “second chance” tournament 11 “happy” players took a seat and when it was all said and done Bob Wallace, Lisa Wilcox and Mike Sutton split up the $352 purse ($118 each).  Hope everyone had a great night and will join us again for our next tournament scheduled for January 20^th.  Registration is now open so mark it on your calendar now and spread the good word!!
